Christmas Joy

Christmas time has many traditions for different folk... when to decorate the tree, what to eat, what to wear, who to visit and the list goes on! Yet, for the staff and pupils of Omagh Academy one of the traditions they love most is the annual Carol Service. Festive tunes, familiar carols, readings and prayers offering comfort & hope combine to explain the reason for the Christmas season.

This year, of course, it’s all change! Our annual Carol Service in St. Columba’s Church cannot take place so instead we have recorded a virtual service, allowing the choirs, instrumentalists and readers to share the good news of the Christmas story. Our chosen charity this year is Air Ambulance NI. An online JustGiving page has been created and if you feel able to donate we would appreciate that very much!

We’d love you to sit down for half an hour, in the comfort of your own home, and watch our service, ‘Christmas Joy!’ Join together with the talented pupils of Omagh Academy to celebrate Christmas. The broadcast will be available to view on the school’s Facebook page and the school website www.omaghacademy.com from Tuesday 15th December until Christmas Eve.
