'The Women Creating Our Tech Future 2019'


QUB School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EEECS) are delighted to announce that they will be hosting 'The Women Creating Our Tech Future 2019' on Wednesday 13th November 2019 from 18:30 - 21:00 in the Computer Science Building at Queen’s University, Belfast

EEECS is fully committed to the principles of Athena SWAN (recognising advancement of gender equality: representation, progression and success for all). The evening will provide all attendees with the opportunity to hear from inspiring women who are contributing to our knowledge economy through their contribution to creating our future with technology.

There will be information exhibits along with information stands from a number of organisations as well as inspiring talks.

Women Creating Our Tech Future 2019 is focused on pupils in year 11 through to 14, all genders, however anyone interested in the tech sector including parents/guardians/teachers, aunts/uncles, brothers/sisters, grandparents of pupils are welcome to attend as well as pupils in year 11 through to 14 who are interested in computing/tech and/or studying computing in school.

This evening is an informal gathering where attendees (all genders) may network and discover more about the variety of careers in the tech sector as well as sit in on enlightening talks from woman who are creating our tech future.

Visitors are welcome to arrive from 18.30 – 19.00. Enlightening Talks will be held throughout the evening, commencing at 19:00. Light seasonal refreshments will also be available.
